Yo, It's Will Carrico

Oh hey, didn't see you there. I was given the name of Jeffery William Carrico after my father and grandfather, yet go by Will. I am cursed with forever being called Jeff by substitute teachers and my last name constantly being mispronounced. My academic goals for this semester include receiving all A's and B's in my classes with a maximum of two B's. I had a fantastic summer this year which consisted mainly of working at my summer internship, spending time with friends, and going on vacations and trips. This summer I had an internship at the Center for Behavioral Science at UK under Dr. Sharon Walsh. At this research lab volunteers were screened and tested for a series of weeks each in order to determine the effects of certain drugs on long-term users (opiates in this situation). I had a huge interest in psychology even before my internship after I took AP Psych last year, but this experience opened my eyes to another side of psychology which is research. One thing that really geeks me out is music and discovering new music. This summer I had the opportunity to go to two music festivals, Forecastle in Louisville, and Lollapalooza in Chicago. At these festivals I discovered many new artists and met many new people. I would say that I listen to many different types of music, but primarily alternative, rap, and indie. However, I will never be caught listening to country music... It makes me sick to my stomach. Although one of my fellow classmates already stated this, if I could have one super power it would be to control time. with this power I would be able to save time, along with relive moments in life that I have found to be especially magnificent.

Here is a picture of my dad and I at Forecastle during the My Morning Jacket show.

I also took a video at Lollapalooza of a band called The Head and the Heart that you can watch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAzK9-dKN7g
You can probably hear me singing along, but just ignore it.

My favorite website would have to be a tie between www.pollstar.com and www.pandora.com. Pollstar is a website that allows you to locate shows and where musicians and bands are playing around the country. Pandora, although you probably already know, is a free online radio that allows you to listen to music similar to any song or artist that you type in. I have found many new artists through the use of this site, and hope to find more.
