Desk

Everyday I sit next to the window watching the cars go by on the street below. At least I try too, it seems everyday the human piles more of his stuff on top of me. But, no matter how heavy it is, no matter how long it stays there, I can never let it fall. Why? Because it is my job to support these things for my human. And if I may say so myself I do a pretty darn good job of it. Most of the things the human drops onto my surface come from this place that he refers to as "school". And most of the stuff usually draws his attention of a few hours a day. But the one thing that I always notice is that this "homework" always seems to be a major source of stress for the human. That is why my job is so important. With all of the stress that he dumps on top of me, I have to be a strong foundation underneath to keep the stress from falling out of control.
