My Neighbor

I came into 4th hour English on the first day of school this year without knowing Gates or Dominik at all. I had chemistry with Dominik last year, but we never really talked, and I had never had a class or even said a word to Gates before this year. I'll start out with Gates. Gates is hilarious and always has something funny to say about what's going on in class. The only instance of tension that has come between the two of us was when I showed up to school with an Obama pin on my backpack, and he was wearing a Romney pin. On the other side of me, Dominik is no shy student either, he has no problem voicing his views to the class even if they are unpopular. I know by sitting next to him that he has an affinity for Russian literature and recognizes the importance of being literate. In 5 years from now I could see both of my neighbors working on some sort of prestigious graduate program.
