What Happened Yesterday..
Yesterday's date was one in a series of important steps toward worldwide communication. On October 13th, 1983, Ameritech Mobile Communications provided cell phone service to the general public in Chicago. This was the first mobile phone service for public use in the United States, which is good because it was a change toward innovated technology. It influenced Chicago because it was provided to them first and allowed them to use it, and it influenced the world because it showed just how amazing technology could be. I appreciate this event because without this innovation, I might not have all the technology that I have today.
Here's a picture of the cell phone, and my source: http://www.thepeoplehistory.com/october13th.html
